Restorative Dentistry in Sunrise
It’s always our goal to help our Welleby Family Dental patients keep their smile healthy and beautiful for life. And while prevention is always best, when a tooth becomes unhealthy, these days there are many options to restore health and function.
We offer a range of restorative services, and we work with you to create a treatment plan that makes sense for your situation and your budget.
Our Services
- Fillings: Fillings are used to repair or rebuild a tooth that has been damaged by a cavity. We remove the decay and damaged part of the tooth, then fill it to seal out bacteria and allow the tooth to function normally and look great.
- Inlays and Onlays: Inlays or onlays are the sort of “middle ground” between fillings and crowns. They are used to restore a tooth that has too much damage for a filling, but still has enough structural integrity not to need a crown.
- Crowns: Crowns cover the entire surface of the tooth and are used when a tooth has significant damage and needs additional support. Crowns are often necessary after a root canal.
- Bridges: A bridge can be used to replace a missing tooth. Crowns are placed on the teeth on either side of the missing tooth, connected to a false tooth in the middle to replace the missing one.
- Implants: Implants are the closest thing to natural teeth. They are used to replace a tooth or teeth that are missing, using a titanium screw that is implanted in the jaw bone to create a synthetic tooth “root.” Then a crown is placed on top of the implant.
- Full and Partial Dentures: Dentures have come a long way in recent years, and for some patients they can be the best way to replace missing teeth. Dentures are removable, making them different from other restorations.
- Root Canal Therapy: Decay and cavities can create a pathway for bacteria to reach the root of a tooth. When that happens, a root canal is needed to remove the bacteria and save the tooth.
