Having straighter teeth doesn’t have to mean wearing metal braces for years! At Welleby Family Dental, we offer the modern alternative of clear aligners, which are nearly invisible and much more comfortable than metal brackets and wires.
ClearCorrect®
We offer ClearCorrect clear aligner treatment that is provided by Dr. Juma in our office. Based on your consultation, exam, X-rays and scans, we’ll fabricate your aligners and oversee the treatment process.
Invisalign®
We offer Invisalign clear aligners through a third party company called Evenly that contracts with an orthodontist. With this approach, the Evenly team will scan your teeth to create a digital simulation that shows what your teeth will look like at the end of treatment. You’ll have an app and camera that allow you to have weekly virtual check-ins with the orthodontist. You’ll still come into our office to obtain your aligners and for your regular cleanings.
We recommend Invisalign for more complex orthodontic problems.
Compared to metal braces, clear aligners are more comfortable. They also allow you to brush and floss normally, since they are removable. This means we are also able to do a normal checkup and clean.
You’ll remove your aligners to eat and drink (anything other than water), which means you can eat whatever you want—unlike with traditional braces.
In order to be effective, aligners must be worn for 22 hours every day—you remove them only to eat and to brush and floss—so this means you have to be committed to complying with the treatment instructions. For this reason, clear aligners are not usually a good option for kids and young teens.
Insurance often covers this type of treatment, and there are other financing options available as well.
